Compact Disc
The CD is easy to describe in terms of shape (it's round), but hard to pigeon-hole in terms of performance. Used undersized, it is a fun small-wave board or air board. Yet when used oversized relative to weight of the surfer, it is a great beginner's board. At the other end of the scale, older, bigger guys who can surf, can still use them as driving platforms for carving long point waves.
Thanks to its round tail, the CD surfs better in the pocket than the swallow-tailed standard fish. The drive and stability comes from the lower rocker, moderate width and flatter deck; the manoeuvrability comes from the lack of length.
